Question

Metadata and edits not saving to DNG files.

I edited some DNG photos for work in my laptop in Lightroom classic. I seleced all the files after I was done and hit Ctrl+S to save all the edits to the DNG files. I then copied them to a thumb drive and moved them to my desktop to finish the work. Lightroom copied them to the internal drives and then when I asked Lightroom to read the metadata from the files, I get nothing. No flags, no edits, no masks. Nothing.

What's going on? This used to work for me. What am I doing wrong?

Are you doing an Import on the desktop?

Did you actually examine the DNG files to see if the metadata is in there?

After you hit Ctrl +S, did you allow sufficient time to ensure this option completed, before you Copied the files to the thumb drive?
Depending on the number of files involved this may take some time to complete.
