Metadata trouble!

I opened up my catalog I've been working on and most of the edits I've already done are no longer showing me. It is telling me the metadata for these photos have been changed and even when I click "overwrite settings" my edits aren't showing me. I need help!

In addition to Sean's comment note the following for future reference

The metadata checking sytstem in LrC tends to get confused at times and idicates that changes have been made when they very likely haven't. Best policy is to ignore any badges or messages indicating a change has taken place outide of LrC, especially if you know that you changed nothing.

If you don't save metadata to file manually or using 'Auto Write chnages to XMP' (see below scresnhot), then clicking on 'overwrite settings' has nothing to import and will therefore overwrite all your work with nothing.

Are you sure it's the correct catalog? Check File>Open Recent to see if other recent catalogs have the files and edits.
