Migrating from High Sierra to Sequoia

I bought LR5 in 2015 for my Mac with High Sierra OS. I have a new Mac with Sequoia OS but LR5 cannot be migrated to the new Mac. I am told by Adobe the new operating system is incompatible. My question is 1. How do I use LR5 on my new Mac - which may be unfeasible and 2. How do I salvage my work on my old Mac? Can I upgrade to the newest version of LR and how do I import my work from my old Mac? Thanks.

You can upgrade to Lightroom Classic. Lightroom Classic will read your catalog and upgrade it, so your previous work is preserved.
