Question

Migrating from Lightroom CC to Lightroom Classic CC

Hi, I'm new to these forums, so please forgive me if this is an incorrect thread or this question has already been answered.

A week or so ago I inadvertently upgraded Lightroom to Lightroom CC (2015) version 6.  However, I actually want to use Lightroom Classic CC version 7.1.  Could someone please provide me with a step by step guide as to what I need to do.  I am a Creative Cloud subscriber and currently I have both Lightroom versions installed.  When I click on the Open tab for Lightroom CC, my programme opens.  When I click on the Open tab for Lightroom Classic, nothing happens.  I want to use the latter as my default programme

Your help would be appreciated.

Stephen

All you need to do is open the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App, go to the Apps tab and install the update that is listed. It should say LR Classic CC.

If it doesn't then Sign Out, you click the human bust figure in the upper right hand corner of the CC DTA window to do that, then Sign back in.

That should refresh the CC DTA and give you the update.

If that doesn't work then please state what operating system is installed on your computer, please be specific with the version number.

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately I’m still confronted with my Creative Cloud app showing both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC are up to date and both buttons say Open.

i have CC installed, but I want to swap across to using Classic on my desktop.

I’m running Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1.

Thanks for your help.

In the CC DTA just Uninstall LR CC. Also the CC DTA defaults to the All Apps tab, section. Once you uninstall LR CC then click on the heading Installed Apps to show only the program that are actually installed on your computer.
