Migrating from Photoshop Lightroom 5 to Lightroom Classic CC issues

Hello,

I am trying to migrate from Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 to Lightroom Classic CC. I am using a current 15" MacBook Pro.

I have two problems. When I open LR Classic CC and upgrade my LR5 .lrcat file, the app opens and I'm missing albums and photos. Also, all my external references are broken with the new LR Classic CC files looking for my photos on an external hard drive I migrated off quite some time ago.

Is losing photos a common upgrade problem? What about the broken external references? All my photos are externally linked to keep the data off my laptop.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gavan.

Thanks David. I was opening the correct one, however there were some previous conversion catalog files. I moved all the old files off to an external hard drive leaving only the Lightroom 5 catalog and I've managed to make it migrate successfully...so it looks like the extra catalog files were causing the problem.

Interestingly, the old LR5 catalog file was 663.5Mb but the new LR Classic CC catalog file is only 406.6Mb yet all my photos appear to be in place. Don't know if that will become a problem.

Thanks for your help.
