Migration from Mac Pro Mid 2010 to Mac Studio

I try to move Lightroom Classic from my old Mac Pro 2010 (LRC 10.4 installed, latest version possible, since MacOS Majave is latest OS that runs on the old Mac Pro) to a new Mac Studio ((LRC 12.1 is installed / Ventura 13).

When looking at the lightroom folder on my Mac Pro which contains the LRC catalog I find following files

- Lightroom Catalog.lrcat

- Lightroom Catalog Previews.lrdata

- Lightroom Catalog Smart Previews.lrdata

- Lightroom Catalog Helper.lrdata

When I look in the default lightroom folder (one picture uploaded and modified as a test) I find one extra file

- Lightroom Catalog.lrcat-data

A search on all attached disks to the Mac Pro did not result in locating this file. It simply does not exist.

An internet survey pointed out that this file is essential and contains all my modification, keywords, etc. and was introduced with LRC 11. How should I proceed?

Will LRC 12.1 recognize the older LRC10.4 files and convert them to the newer file formats and build a lrcat-data file based on the info that is info the older folders?

Or should I look for other workarounds?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

"Starting with Lightroom Classic 11, Lightroom Classic stores some additional information in a new file, with an extension of .lrcat-data, along with the catalog file. This file is located in the same folder as your catalog file. This file contains important information about your photos and edits and should be included in any backup regimes you may have. "

that from:

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/catalog-faq-lightroom.html

It started with LrV v11

One thing is it contains data for AI masking, no,AI mask, no Lightroom Catalog.lrcat-data

Do I need LRC 11 to open my LRC 10 catalog? Or can I just use LRC 12 to open my catalag and will my LRC 10 catalog be upgraded to LRC 12 with the seperate Lightroom Catalog.lrcat-data file?

In case I need LRC 11 for the upgrade, where can I download the older LRC 11 install file. Can't find it on the adobe website.

Just use LR12 and a copy of your catalog will be upgraded (and the original left intact and untouched). The new copy will have -v12 appended to the name.
