Question

Missing File names after exporting

I created a collection and after exporting it to my hard drive found that the names I had given the files were not included. The names were given by pushing "e" and "F2".  Other light room changes were included.

There are 330 files and I would really like to avoid renaming them all!  Any help would be appreciate.

Are you renaming the Exported photos, or the Original photos in the Catalog?

Did you 'Add' the exported photos into the Catalog?

Are you checking the 'Rename' box in the Export dialog and selecting a Rename PRESET?

Thanks for your response Rob.  I may have to rename the exported photos, not the originals in the catalog.

I imported them into the catalog after exporting them to the hard drive.

I did not check a rename box or select a rename preset.

So you want to rename the images that you Exported, AND Imported back into the catalog? Correct?

By pushing "e" you have shown one image in Loupe View and an option in the Metadata panel will then determine if One or Many files are renamed-

eg.  For ONE image in Loupe view.  And Many images selected on the Filmstrip:

a) With "Target Photo" set- only the ONE visible image in Loupe view will be renamed.

b) With "Selected Photos" set- All selected photos will be renamed (with a Preset suitable.)

If this does not answer your question- provide a more detailed explanation of what you are trying to achieve.
