What sort of an improvement is it if we can’t see the last 10 or so weeks’ worth of posts for another 8-10 weeks?  I find it incredible that Adobe thinks that is acceptable.  Many users have ongoing posts and need help.

Also, I am confused about the icons at the bottom of the new posts:

Follow - is that the new ‘Like”?  Or is the new icon ‘Subscribe’, which I can’t even see on some posts?

Vote - seems to be there for some posts but not others; how do we Upvote a post?

I find these new icons not at all self-evident.

Ah, you’re looking at the listing of posts.  Those icons are likes, views, replies, and the last user who replied (and when):

If you click the last user’s avatar or the time, it takes you to that last reply.

Thank you - that does look very obvious!  Perhaps I was complicating things by looking for the Vote icon.  Still strange that some post show no views even though there are answers!!  Perhaps if there is an answer they don’t count it as a view!!

    Thank you for your patience!

I think the eye/moon icon a bit odd,

Before the number of likes, the forum displays the avatars of the users who have liked the reply. (e.g. mine is “JRE”). Was the eye/moon icon just one of those avatars perhaps?

Thanks John.  This is what it looks like beneath a post for me:

And this is another one with a lot of likes (including me hence the black thumbs up!).  The avatars seem to have disappeared for all the posts, even though I could see them earlier today.

That looks a bit more like the ‘eye’ icon is for the number of sightings, but then again it doesn’t show any in the first image and obviously you had seen it!!

Perhaps we just give it a few more days to settle down!

Subscribe will send you email notifications of new replies in that thread.  (It used to be called Follow.)   The Subscribe button only appears under the top post of the thread.

Vote buttons appear for Bug Reports and Feature Requests threads. They let you indicate that the bug is also happening to you or that you’re in favor of the feature request. The Vote button is only under the top post of the thread.

Like buttons appear on all replies (unless there’s a Vote button).  A Like is the same as on other social-media platforms.  They are tallied for the individual post or reply, not the entire thread.  Unlike the previous forum platform, you can see the users who liked the reply by hovering over the likes:

It’s obviously a huge loss in the quality of customer support.

Adobe has disclosed the business reasons for transitioning from the previous platform service provider (Khoros) to the new one (Gainsight). The old Khoros platform was getting creaky in the last year or so, slowing down appreciably, and Khoros had stopped making improvements in features years ago.   Evidently, Adobe isn’t willing to pay Gainsight enough money to properly engineer a fast migration from Khoros to Gainsight.  Most larger companies forums are pretty bad these days.

@johnrellis - thank you so much for replying and for your clear explanations.

I do think that ‘Follow’ is a much better word than ‘Subscribe’ but at least I had sort of figured that one out already!

I do approve of having the option to ‘Like’ a reply, so I guess that is an improvement at least.

I think the eye/moon icon a bit odd, and wasn’t sure if it was who had ‘seen’ the post (because it looks like an eye), rather than who had ‘liked’ the post - just a little bit too cryptic for me!  I wonder what the icon is actually meant to represent?

Despite my complaints, I really do appreciate having this forum available and I am very grateful to all those people who so willingly help us - thank you.
