Mouse issues with two screens
Using LRC on a Windows 11 machine (extract below), the mouse current position is sometimes taken instead of the mouse clic position. For instance in the grid below with 8 icons, assuming that the icon 1 is selected:
1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8
Normally, when you clic on the icon 2, it becomes the new selection. Now clic on the icon 3 and immediately after move the mouse on the icon 7 (without clic on icon 7 of course). Normally the icon 3 should be the new selection, but often the icon 7 will be selected.
This means that the position of the clic is not acquired and stored at the instant of the clic, but that it is acquired after some internal work whose duration is unknown. As a result, after a clic you should not move the mouse, which is very unusual and difficult to respect.
The issue occurs often when you want to select a set of icons. To select the icons 2 to 7 for instance, you select first the icon 2, and then you select the icon 7 while pressing the shift key. Surprise! As you move the mouse, the selected area will be, for example, 6 to 7 if your mouse transits from 2 to 7 by passing over the icon 6. Often, the icon 7 only is selected.
When sorting and moving photos, this behavior is difficult to tolerate: at the moment of the clic, LR have to interrupt any work in progress and should acquire the mouse position. Afterwards, works can continue as required, but the mouse position will be correct.
My 2 screens with 2560x1440 pixels each are rather heavy, I know, but the issue is not on delay, it is on the time of acquisition of the mouse position. The current design solution wrongly assumes that the mouse processing is faster enough to ensure that the mouse clic position is the same as the mouse position, which means that there is not enough time to move the mouse during processing. I'd like that to be the case but, unfortunately, the processing time is much too great, which allow moving the mouse between clic and position acquisition, and leads to continuous errors.
Am I alone ?
