Question

moving files to LR

When I move multiple files from my file manager to LR through IMPORT,  only some of them change the CREATED DATE to the present date. Some of the stay the original CREATED DATE. There is no rhyme or reason to this.

What import method are you using, Copy, Move or Add? Lightroom doesn’t put images inside of Lightroom. If you are importing images from an SD card, the images first get copied to somewhere on your hard drive, then they get imported. This is the Copy method. If the images are already on a hard drive, Lightroom just Adds them to the catalog. It doesn’t do anything to the images. In either case, Lightroom should not be changing the created date.

Where are you copying from and to? Can you share a screen capture of your Lightroom import window?

    Hi KennethStubella,

We're really sorry for all the trouble. Could you please share the screenshots for both the dates. Lightroom shouldn't change the create date to the day it got imported in Lightroom.

Also, please let us know the exact version of Lightroom you are using now?

    Thanks,

    Mohit
