Moving LR and CC from one MacBook to Another with Time Machine and Migration Assistant?

I'm replacing my 7-year-old MacBook Pro with a new one.  Lightroom Queen has detailed instructions on how to move LR and photos.  But what if I use Time Machine to save the entire contents of the old machine to an external hard drive, then import that "mirror image" to the new computer via Migration Assistant?  Are all the steps that LQ outlines necessary?
