Moving LR Catalog from one external hard drive to another

Help! I store my lightroom catalog and photos on an external hard drive...photography teacher set it up this way a few years ago. Now my hard drive is full and I need to move it to another external hard drive. Do I just click on the folders containg my catalog and photos and drag them to the new hard drive?

First, I'd right click on a top level folder and choose 'Show Parent Folder' until there's only one folder-it sounds like there is.

    Next, I'd copy everything over.

Run the catalog in the new location and then right click on the parent folder (which is still pointing to the original photos) and choose 'Update Folder Location'. That's it.

You can also right click and choose 'Hide Parent Folder' if you want to see more than one parent folder for your files. e.g. if you use year folders.
