Moving Lr Classic too a new fast home...

Hi I am planning to more my Lr from my old iMac (mid 15) too a new one, (newish, 2 yrs old) it only as a small HD so i want to put the images on a SSD, then run Lr on the iMac, i want to avoid problems so i am am here asking before i try to cause them!! What is the best way forward? Thanks for any help, Alan
