moving LRC catalogue from imac pictures to a SSD

Hello,

I want to be able to work with my Lightroom catalog (LRC) on my laptop AND iMac. Currently, the catalog is located in my picture folder on my iMac.

If I copy the LRC catalog to an SSD drive, what would I do with the catalog on my iMac>pictures folder?

The images are on external hard drives.

What is the best workflow for me to work on the go (using my laptop) and minimize confusion?

Thank you in advance for your expertise,

Cheryl

If I am understanding you properly, once you copy the catalog to the SSD, you can (and should) delete the catalog in iMac>Pictures

Make sure you create regular and automated backup copies of this catalog file either in the cloud or on a different disk (not the SSD you are using)

Thank you for your reply. Upon further investigation, I have decided to keep my lrc catalog on my imac>pictures and create a second catalog on my laptop. I will merge when I am back at my desk.
