My Catalogue is on an external drive. I have inadvertantly imported photos to my internal SSD which is now nearly full. So I want to move the photos from the SSD to the External HDD, keep them in my catalogue, to free up space on my SSD. When I use "import" and highlight the files they appear grey out, and LR telll me they are already in my calologue. How can I move them, please.
Don't import the images again (and don't export them either). What you need to do is simply drag and drop the images (or their folder) from the SSD to the External HDD. You need to do this in the Lightroom folder panel, so Lightroom knows what you have done. If the folder panel does not show the HDD yet, then create an empty folder on it by clicking on the plus icon in the upper right corner of the panel and then choose 'Add folder'. Now you can drag the images into that folder, or drag one or more image folders to the HDD. That is all.
