multirow hdr panorama merge vs single row hdr panorama?

Hi all, 

I'm wondering if anyone has tried to merge multirow hdr panoramas with the hdr merge tool as opposed to single row hdr panorama? If so, any success? Im planning a shoot, and while I dont need the extra size, if I know its possible I will give multirow a shot.  Its a relatively narrow filed of view so im thinking 4 rows across with the columns being 3 high.
