My folder structure in the folders pane of my catalog keeps dropping folders til restart

Hi there. I have been using LRC for years, so I know quite a bit about it. However, I have been struggling with this issue for months and have tried every workaround I can think of. I hope someone out there knows how to fix it. 

The issue: In my folder pane, when I create or move a folder in LRC, the folder moves/is made, but then a big chunk of my folders disappears. I have to restart the program to see all the folders again. It is so annoying and really taking up too much time in my workflow. Does anyone else have this issue? 

• Not a lag issue: I have my catalog running on my fastest internal drive and don't believe it is a lag issue since it never resolves unless I restart. I have the problem on both versions---on my laptop and my high-performance PC system. 
• I have checked all the settings I can think of, and nothing is set to be hidden. The whole nested structure shows unless I move or create a new folder. 
• I have tried to flatten my folder architecture in case it cannot handle a nesting structure that is too deep. 
  Any advice?
