Question

My lightroom goes extremely slow on new Mac M4

I am getting worried and pretty desperate.

I got a Mac M4 and downloaded lightroom and transfered by catalog on to the M4.

My lightroom clasic is working insanely slowly so so that it take hours to move a few pictres from one folder to the next, deleting a file takes minutes, and moving from one file to another also takes along time. I tried to move a folder from one external hardrive toanother and I could not do it (3000 pictres). On my old compter I could do it all and fast (that compter was 12 years old). I do not know where the problem is. Please help me.

NB: I had Adobe on the line for two hours and the staff could not come with solutions. The second level assistance was reqested but after more than a week, I have still not received a call.

I'm seeing the same issues here. To be clear, editing is lightnig fast. The slowness is all related to file modifications (Renames, DNG converts, folder movements, metadata reads, etc)

Do you have a folder with thousands of images (not in subfolders, but all in one folder)?

Also, @mpatel1624 please provide the information requested by @GoldingD

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post. Also large amounts of text in a post also render the Translate function inoperable.
