Majority of my photos turned grey when I was cleaning out my "all photographs". I keep a copy of my photos on a hard drive so I would just delete or remove the grey boxes but it wont let me.

It will help to post your Lightroom and OS version sometimes, but in your case i presume you are working in the Library Module?

If you are referring to to working Grid mode in the Develop Module you could perhaps try this:

    1. There is a problem with the GPU.Go to Preferences > Performance, and uncheck Use graphics processor.
    2. The Develop previews are corrupted.Go to Preferences > Performance > Camera Raw cache settings, and click the Purge cache button.
    3. You have a defective monitor profile.Try setting the monitor profile to sRGB (use Adobe RGB if you have a wide gamut monitor).http://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-change-my-monitor-profile-to-check-wh ether-its-corrupted/ If this fixes the problem, you should ideally calibrate your monitor with a hardware calibrator.
