My Presets are missing after Creative cloud app error and local drive presets are gone too

Question

This afternoon I had a Creative Cloud app error when i tried to install an old version of Adobe Photoshop 2021, which caused Creative Cloud app report error 306.

And then a big tragedy: my Lightroom has "updated " and then restored to the default setting, -- a brand new Lightroom classic, causing I to lose all the user data. 5 years of presets, my "user preset " are empty, as well as my "favourite presets"

More tragic is, that I can't also find my local drive, C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Develop Presets\Lightroom Presets are emptied too. A brand new folder.

You state LrC updated, was that an update or an upgrade? From what version did it update or upgrade from?

Check for a different catalog. I see you have Windows, so use Windows File Explorer for that.

If you find that correct catalog, and LrC was Upgraded, then an upgrade of the catalog will occur. Hopefully not a replacement with the wrong one or a new one.

If you find that correct catalog and LrC was not Upgraded, just updated, then hopefully all will be well. But then bring up Preferences, look in the Presets tab, look at the Location section, did you store presets with catalog?
