Question

Navigation in survey view

Is it possible to select two images, switch to Survey view and then somehow with the keyboard skip to the next two images, and then the next two, etc. Basically, what I want to do is make a book-like view, without using the Book module. I want to compare two images when sequencing for the book.

SURVEY MODE ADVANCE SEQUENCE in LIGHTROOM-CLASSIC

Programmable Keyboard devices  (eg. Contour Shuttle Pro, some Logitec mice, Loupedeck?)  may be programmed to Survey several images, then Advance to next group of images, with one of the Device keys (as a shortcut).

There is no default keyboard shortcut existing in Lightroom-Classic to do this.

Method- (Example for six images in screen):

First: Select and view the first 6 images in Survey Mode [N]- Then the programmable keyboard presses are as follows-

[G]

[ALT + RIGHT ARROW]

[SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]

[SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]

[SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]

[SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]

[SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]

[N]

This procedure is then initiated by a one-button press on the remote device or programmable mouse.

The number of  [SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW] ‘presses’ determine the number of images on screen.  Eg. [SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]  three times will display 4 images in Survey Mode, as with this series of keyboard shortcuts-

[G]

[ALT + RIGHT ARROW]

[SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]

[SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]

[SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]

 [N]

This series of keyboard key presses with regular use can become almost second-nature (like playing the piano!) even without an external device.

For TWO images in Survey view the Keyboard shortcuts are-

[G]

[ALT + RIGHT ARROW]

[SHIFT+ RIGHT ARROW]

 [N]

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

Thanks Rob, shame there's no default keyboard shortcut for this, but I'm wondering can it be created with the normal keyboard? I don't have, nor I want to have a programmable device for surveying images. I wanted to simplify the process as much as possible by using only a Library module, not even creating a book project, where this would be possible.
