New Cloned Disk Invokes Login and Extra License Count

I cloned my HDD to a new drive. This has the OS and all files, including Adobe products on it.

When I opened LrC, I had to log in to the Adobe Clount. It then said I had exceeded the number of computers to use with LrC. My computer name was listed twice as being signed in. It showed my current computer not signed in. I signed out the two signed in and Adobe signed me in.

My question is that it seems Adobe knows the disk signature (or some other attribute) where Adobe Clount products are registered. Is this true? I just want to know going forward when I move to a new computer.

Yes, that is possible, and Adobe is not the only one using things like that to identify a computer. Recently I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall everything from a backup. Adobe had no problem with this, but BitDefender thought this was another computer.

Thanks for the heads up @JohanElzenga. Will look into if some software needs to be deinstalled before moving to a new computer or disk.

You don't need to uninstall anything. You can just go to 'account.adobe.com' and remove the computer. Even just logging out from the CC app should do it.
