New desktop pc build for Lightroom only (no gaming or video) questions

I am considering a new build with Gigabyte Z790 Elite AX + i7 13700 + 32 gbs of RAM

  • Any wisdom as to what DDR5 RAM modules to buy? Is lightroom responsive to faster RAM? Is there benefit to faster RAM that I could enable with XMP in the bios or should I stick to the motherboards native 4800. What about latency? My understanding is that the smaller CL# the better the RAM. Does it result in better Lightroom performance? I've read that some programs do not benefit from faster RAM.
  • As to the storage configuration. Is there still a benefit to having a separate drive dedicated to the LR catalogue and scratch disk? I know this was beneficial in the days of the old spinner disk drives but wonder if this is no loner needed with the new NVMe SSDs. I should have 2 of these in my new build. I may include my old SATA SSDs (one of which is the current LR/PS dedicated catalogue drive).
  •  I have LR Classic currently installed on a desktop as well as a laptop. I believe I am allowed only two devices. Must I unistall it first from one of them before I can install it on my new PC? Any helpful hints will be appreciated.

LrC can be installed on more than 2 computers, it can only be activated on two computers, and it can only be used on one computer at a time. To deactivate LrC on a computer you can either simply sign out in the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App (a.k.a Adobe Creative Cloud) or go to Adobe.com, sign in, go and manage your account, and deactivate on the appropriate computer. To activate on the new computer, sign in to the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App.

The Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App is free, and you can install it as you see fit. I do not remember if you will not be able to use it to install the apps before deactivating them on one of the old computers.

Note that signing out in the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App, deactivates all Adobe creative cloud apps on that computer. Doing so does not remove them, that is a separate function.

the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App is used for (not a complete list):

  • Install the creative cloud apps
  • Uninstall the creative cloud apps
  • Authenticate your account, your plan
  • Activate the creative cloud apps
  • Deactivate the creative cloud apps
  • Upgrade/Update the creative cloud apps
  • Install Adobe fonts
  • Install Adobe presets and other extras
  • Organize and Share Creative Cloud Libraries
  • Browse Adobe Stock images
  • Access Resource Links and Tutorials
  • Set various preferences such as Language
  • Share and view Creative work (Behance)

After subsequent research I've decided upon my RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6400 CL32

So even in the age of NVMe SSDs we should separate the OS/program from the project files though the incremental improvement is much less than I imagined.

Just need to get information on how to install LR/PS on a third device.

THANKS!!

I will uninstall it from my soon-to-be former workstation after I have it up and running on my new build.

Some consider looking at:

https://www.pugetsystems.com/solutions/photo-editing-workstations/adobe-lightroom-classic/hardware-recommendations/

also read the following. Do not go with the minimum. Probably exceed the recommended:

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/system-requirements.html

And for the GPU, consider the following. Once again do not go with the minimum. And remember that you cannot add VRAM later:
