New Macbook Pro 16": Advice for amount of RAM 16 GB or 32 GB?
Hello all,
soon i want to replace my Macbook Pro 13 (early 2015, i5 2.9Ghz, 8GB, 512GB SSD) with the
new 16" model.
Since it is not possible to upgrade the device afterwards, I am not sure how much memory I
should choose. 16 or 32 GB ?
My daily Workload
- Lightroom classic for photo editing and printing
(exclusively, no other Adobe or other photo/video related products)
- Safari browser with a few open tabs
- Itunes
- Sometimes MS Word and/or Excel
- no gaming
- 27" external monitor with 2560 x 1440 resolution
Other assumptions and requirements
- Planning to use machine for at least 6 years
- Performance in developer modul is most important
- Import/export performance doesn't matter
- Just this machine, no desktop or other devices
- If not on load the machine should be as quiet as possible
As far as i know 16GB should be pretty OK. But really furture proof? Also i'm
thinking about to opt for the i9 2.4 processor, good idea?
Thanks in advance!
