Newly Shared iCloud folder and copied catalog. Files missing. No question marks

Up to date version LR Classic, Monterey 12.3 on Macbook Pro.

I have worked out of iCloud for years. No problem. Have a new Macbook. Shared the iCloud folder (original in my wife's iCloud account, laptop in my account). Copied catalog to laptop which is active (I clicked on lrcat file). File structure is present in Lightroom Classic. In develop mode, some edits are present in history but greyed out and not accessible.Yet file is missing. There are no question marks on any of the files. Tried to synchronize. Shows me missing photos but no option to get them. What is even more frustrating is some files in any given subfolder work perfectly. Went to iCloud and clicked on files. The file than appeared in Lightroom but not any of the edits. History is empty. I feel like the catalog has not transferred (although for some of the files it has)

Suggestions? Ideas?
