Nikon D5 tethering - Store pictures in Lightroom and on memory card

Dear all,

I received my Tethered Tools USB cable and started tethered shooting with my Lightroom. Unfortunately the pictures will only be stored in Lightroom. From my Canon buddies I know, that their cameras will store the pictures also on the memory card.

Is there any Nikon user who knows, if there is a setting where I can set to store on both, memory card and Lightroom?

Thanks a lot, Michael

    Hi Michael,

Please take a look at this discussion Tether to Nikon camera to view files after taking them & keep stored on camera: PC Talk Forum: Digital Photography Revie… and let us know if that helps.

    Hi AKash,

Thanks a lot for your reply. If I got the article, they solve this issue by using a WiFi funtion and the programm AirNef, right? That's not what I am looking for, I am looking for an option in Lightroom, to save my pictures during tethering on my memory card as well as in Lightroom. Same as Canon users can set it up.

I called the Nikon support, they told my that there is no option in the cam, the tether software needs to bring this option. So is there an option like this in Lightroom or not?

    Best regards,

    Michael

Lightroom does not have an option to affect this. Nikon's SDK, which Adobe uses to facilitate tethering, controls the access to the image. Nikon cameras tethered in Lightroom will not save the tethered-captured images to the memory card.

Canon does save the images to the card as well but there is no setting in Lightroom to affect that functionality either.
