No Date in File Names

All my raw files used to import into LR with this format:  20160830-_DSC8245.NEF.  But in the last year or so the date doesn't become part of the file name so it's just: _DSC8245.  I don't remember changing anything in LR or my various cameras. I'm not even sure if this is being done by the camera or LR. Any ideas? I would like the date to be part of the file. (now, I am using a D850 and Z7)

Thanks

The "default" import option in Lightroom is to simply import using the filename. However, in the import dialog, when importing from the camera or from a card, there is a file renaming option that can be configured to include the date and the filename. I believe that is probably what you were using before, and it probably needs to be set again.

Thanks Jim! Yes, that's it... I must have un-set it a while ago. Duh!

Sometimes those custom settings don't carry over through updates and upgrades. At least that's what I have found. It's always good to watch closely after an update/upgrade.
