No File naming panel on import in Lightroom Classic CC

I don't have a file naming panel on import in the Library module in  lightroom Classic CC.  I'm using MacOS 10.13.4

    Then Right Click on one of the headers and select the File Renaming panel. For that to show as an option you have to select Copy, Move or Copy as DNG at the top.

    Are you Adding images to the catalog, using the Add option in the import dialog window?  If you are then you don't get the option to rename images during the import process.

    you only have that option with Copy, Move or Copy as DNG.

    The panel doesn’t appear regardless of the import option I have selected: whether its dog, copy, move or add.
