No option to remove Prompt for delete from disk?

In LcR, there is no preference setting to PREVENT the prompt to confirm deletion from my Disk … or at least I can’t find one.

I’m an adult and I know what I’m doing and do NOT want to be prompted every time I want to delete a image from disk.

Am I missing something?

If this is “By Design”, is there any future plans to address this shortcoming?

I second Johan’s recommendation to use a Reject / Delete Rejected workflow, similar to deleting files to the Trash on Mac and Windows. It’s safer than using the Remove And Trash Photos command. I set the Library filters to filter out rejected photos, so as soon as I type “x”, the photo disappears from view in Library.

If instead you really want a shorter keyboard shortcut (e.g. F12), use the Any Shortcut plugin to assign the shortcut to the Photo > Remove And Trash Photo command.

There is a key combo that lets you delete images from the catalog and from disk without any prompt. It’s known as ‘splat delete’. The combo is Shift+Ctrl+Alt+Del on a PC and Shift+Cmd+Option+Del on a Mac. Use at your own risk.

A preference setting would be better as Hitting 4 Keys at the same time certainly is asking for input trouble (aka Risk).  After some searching, it seems MANY users have similar question/request … I guess I better head over to “Feedback” and hope, but given some of the threads I found requesting a preference option rather than key sequence are several years old … my feedback will likely be in vain.

Yes, it is unlikely that Adobe will change this after so many years. The best way to avoid having to confirm multiple times is to change your workflow a bit. Instead of deleting an unwanted image right away, hit the ‘X’ key to set the ‘Reject’ flag. Then, at the end of your session, delete all rejected images at once.
