Normally putting Title & Region values in the metadata files results in a recently added list. This has stopped happening. Why?

I am using version 15.6

The metadata for file name, folder, capture time and the like updates with each photo. Tilt and Country are of course fields I type into. The values are saved with teh photo, but there is not a drop-down list of recent entries whcih there was up to a couple of days ago. I have uninstalledd and re-installed LRC , the last time not retainig any preferneces but the problem remains with this catalog.

It doesn’t affect an older catalog - just the one I am currently working on!

There is a setting in Lightroom Classic preferences. I know the preference says it applies to keywords, but it might apply to other metadata as well, there have been other occasions where the wording used on an option is not as precise as it could be.

Thanks for reporting this. The previously used values should still be available in the metadata fields, so I’d like to understand what changed.

Could you please confirm a few details?

1. Which version of Lightroom Classic are you using? You can check under Help > System Info > Copy and paste the content here.

2. Does this happen with both the Title and Region fields, or have you noticed it with other metadata fields as well?

3. When you enter a new value, move to another photo, and return to the field, is the value saved correctly but missing from the recent entries list?

4. Did this behavior start after a recent Lightroom Classic update?

5. Create a brand-new catalog (File > New Catalog), import a few test photos, and try adding metadata with Title and Region. If the Recent Entries list works there, the issue is specific to your existing catalog/helper data.

I’d like to understand your issue before suggesting any troubleshooting.
