Question

Not Properly ejecting my Lightroom drive

Hi guys,

Ejecting drives is a problem because there's almost always a notification that they weren't properly ejected - although they were, even when I pull the cable out after I shut down my Macbook computer.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

I  have the same issue. Windows 10 and 11 on two pcs. Click the eject icon, and get the standard Window's error, "cannot safely eject, shut down the program using the drive." I downloaded process explorer from Microsoft and now I can check to see what is using the drive and it's a process called Adobe Crash Manager. I don't know what that is. All I've done is open a pdf and then close it. What is crashing? I don't have a clue, but that's the process that is running.  Here's a link to a previous post from 2018, reporting the same issue from multiple users, using various adobe products.

Hey @raphaels28255986

It sounds like your hard drive might still be in use when you're trying to eject it. When you eject it, does the icon disappear from your desktop or just from the menu? Also, are you currently syncing any files that are stored on the hard drive that? That could be preventing it from ejecting properly.
