Question

"not responding" during Tethered - capture

I've been having this issue for several weeks.  While being teethered to my 2017 Imac Intel with Ventura OS, my lightroom will lockup and not respond and I'll have to force quit.  This happens several times a day with no rhyme or reason.  I'm shooting with a canon 6d Mark II.

I've done the following:
1: Started a new catalog
2: Reverted to several different Older versions of LR, currently on 14.0.1, Camera RAW 17.
3: Reset the Pref
4: Switched the GPU to auto

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for reaching out, and we're sorry about the trouble! Could you confirm if the application becomes unresponsive only while tethering? If yes, check if Lightroom Classic is added to Accessibility and Full Disk Access. You can check out the steps here: https://adobe.ly/3GnMoMT

Also, you can check out: https://adobe.ly/4m1bCRN

Let us know how it goes!
Thanks,

Thank you.  It appears to only be when teethered.  I honestly don't really use lightroom for longer periods of time without being teethered.

I've gone ahead and changed out the USB cable, used a different port, reset the pref AGAIN and allowed LR full access in the system settings and it's still crashing.  I'm of the opinion it's a OS/LR issue or possibly OS/ModelChipset/LR issue.  I have 3 other sets/imacs in my studio all using LR, another 2017, a 2019 and a 2020.  The 2020 Mac has been stable and isn't having any issues. The 2019 Mac is now stable since downgrading to LR 14.1 and the other 2017 is somewhat stable, but also still crashing from time to time.

the only real common thread is the 2017 mac on ventura os that I can see.    But I'm still open to suggestions.
