Old version of Lightroom

Hi there... I have been using Lightroom 4 way in the past. I used it for my extensive research database of identification photos connecting those to various keywords. Due to various reasons I can't access Lightroom anymore but all those photos are sorted on my external Harddrive. My question is: If I buy the latest version of Lightroom and open this database are those keywords still connected to the photographs? Any help, insights and knowledge is highly appreciated. Best Ursula

Yes, the current version, called Lightroom Classic (name changed) 11.2 will be able to access and use your Lightroom 4 data base.

NOTE: you have to subscribe to obtain Lightroom Classic, the minimum subscription term is one year at 9.95 US Dollars (different amount in other countries) plus tax.

If you just want to access the photos, write the keywords to the photo files or sidecar XMP files, so you can access this organization outside of Lightroom, you could simply download the 7-day free trial, write the information, and then cancel the free trial before you have to pay.
