Question

Only FLAGGED images shown in LRc

Hello,

I’m using Lightroom Class (15.2 release, Camera Raw 18.2) on a MacBook Pro (Tahoe 16.1).

When in a folder in LRc it is only showing me images which are FLAGGED.  All filters are OFF but it is only showing me FLAGGED images.  In any other folder, it works fine.  If I turn on the filter “flagged” it shows me all the flagged images only.  If I click on “Filter off” it shows me the entire library (i.e. both flagged and unflagged images.)

I’ve gleaned all I can from the web and followed all the “fixes” I can find with no joy.

How can I change this folder to show me the entire library?

Thank you in advance!

Cheers.

Is it possible that the particular folder that only shows flagged images, actually only contains flagged images (that are imported in Lightroom)? If you can only see flagged images in this folder, regardless of whether you have an active filter or not, then how do you know that there are non-flagged images in that folder as well and that these images are imported in Lightroom? If you look inside that folder in the Finder, then you may indeed see other images, but perhaps these are not imported in Lightroom…

And are the flagged images in this folder all flagged on purpose? If not, then maybe you erroneously selected them all and flagged them, so indeed all images in this folder are now flagged images.

    @vancouvergator

Could you provide a full screen shot of Library Grid when in the folder showing only Flagged photos and one with a folder selected that shows photos normally.

with all due respect, I suspect that our flag filters are not all turned off as you think they are.  To be honest the icons for the flags in the filter bar are noT all that easy to distinguish.

    They should look like this

    All 3 filters off

If any look like this then that flag type filter is turned on

    all 3 filters on

Another confusion with this filter is that the “tool tips” that pop up say the same thing rather than specifying which flag type (pick, reject, or unflagged) that icon is for.  So you’ll know the first is “Pick”,  the second is “Unflagged” and the last is “Rejected”

A second possibility is that you are viewing the grid through a collection which does not contain the unflagged images for one reason or another.  If this is the case, then clicking the “None” button to turn off all filters will then show those images.

And, a thrid possibility is that you also have some other filter (e.g. on stars or keywords) which is hiding those images.

if still not working for you, please provide screen shot of your Attribute Filter bar while those images are being hidden.

How can I change this folder to show me the entire library?

I guess I don’t understand the question. You cannot see the entire library in a folder. So I am confused. Also, you seem to be implying in an earlier sentence that you can see the entire library in a folder.

But I’ll take a wild guess at what you are asking: If you want to see the entire library, on the left of the Library module, under Catalog, click on “All Photographs”.

Or wild guess #2 … do you want to see the entire FOLDER (not the entire Library) when you turn off the “flagged” filter? You could click on “None” in the Filter bar.

Show us a screen capture of the ENTIRE library screen when you are having this problem.
