open toolbar at top left

The top left buttons (red-yellow-green) do not show up. How to turn on that line of the Toolbar?

You are probably using the 'Full Screen with Menubar' view.

Try [SHIFT + F ] a couple of times to see if that reveals the buttons.

You can see some of the "View Shortcuts" if you press [CMD/CTRL + / ]
