Opening Lightroom Dims Laptop Display

Hello

I’ve had a couple of recent incidents while using Lightroom Classic.

First, I was using LRC as normal, and my laptop completely shut down. No error message. It just turned off. The only other programs running at the same time were iTunes and my Chrome browser was open.
I started my laptop again, went back into LRC and everything was saved and I was able to continue editing.

Second, a day later, I tried using LRC again. After plugging in my external drive (photos) and starting LRC, my display screen dimmed (for all programs and apps) as soon as LRC opened.
But, under Windows system settings the Brightness still shows 100%. After doing some editing work, I closed LRC and the laptop display brightened up.

Same problem this morning. The display dims after opening LRC, but the system settings show 100% Brightness

I have made no known changes to my laptop.
I am using the latest version of LRC (12.4).
Windows drivers and updates appear up-to-date. Windows 10
Graphics Driver is set to Auto (it always has been). NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3050
Laptop is a MSI E16Flip A11UCT
It would seem logical that LRC is causing this problem, but I am not entirely sure.
I am concerned about this. Do I have a possible system error within my operating system?
Any troubleshooting would be appreciated. Thank you

An update...

As an FYI, I've never had this problem before

The laptop dimmed both on and off battery power when opening Lightroom.
Same issue with Photoshop and Acrobat
But, not with any other program that I tried including different media/movie players

I went into the MSI Center to look at different settings.
There is something called "Smart Priority" and a SW List with the 3 Adobe apps listed. Image attached.
I turned it Off (I thought it had always been turned off, and I never had this dimming problem before)

I tried the programs again and they did not dim when opened with Smart Priority Off.

I went into Lightroom and did some editing (while plugged in) for a while (iTunes was the only other program running).

The laptop was using the dedicated GPU per the "orange" light on the power button, and it also did get very hot with the fan sometimes turning on. I don't think the fan was continuously running.

After some editing, maybe 45 minutes, my laptop shut down again. Completely turned off. No warning.
I turned on the laptop again and it worked normally. I went back into LRC and edited a few more images before closing LRC.

So, it seems that my laptop does not completely like Adobe programs, but I never had this problem before and I haven't made any changes to the laptop.
I suspect it is something in the MSI Center settings, which I have never changed, so I am not sure why I have the problem now.

Hi

Another update.
Whatever happened before (display dimming in Adobe programs and laptop spontaneously shutting down) does not (knock on wood) seem to be happening anymore.
I also updated the BIOS per MSI's technical support.
I've used LRC a few times (before and after the BIOS update) and it seems to be ok. My laptop is running better, cooler and much faster after the BIOS update, so maybe that was the issue.
As an FYI again and for reference for others, these problems only occurred with Adobe programs.
