Organizing LRc Library

Hello,

How can I get my LRc Library to match the photo library structure I on my hard drive?

My hard drive has my photographs organized by date.  i.e.  2022 folder has 2022-01 folder, 2022-02 folder, and so forth.  Then 2023 folder has 2023-01 folder, 2023-02, and so forth.  However, I don't know how it got this way, but my LRc folder just has all the folders at the root.  So 2022-01, 2022-02...2023-01, 2023-02, and so forth.

How can I get the LRc Library to be organized just like my hard drive?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers.

I'm on MacOS 13.4.1

The folder paths to some images can be very long, so to help keep the Folders panel simple and clean, Lightroom Classic may not show the entire path, only listing the containing folder of an image. But that means folders at the same level may be listed separately instead of under their containing folder.

If you want to consolidate those multiple folders under their containing folder, right-click one of them and choose Show Parent Folder. This adds the containing folder to the display, and then all of the folders under it will be displayed within that folder.

(If you don’t have right-click enabled on your Mac, Control-click the folder instead.)

The folders in LrC should match the folders in your operating system, unless you moved the photos or folders outside of LrC. Possibly, you have imported the photos using COPY from your hard disk, and so copies were made in new folders that match the LrC hierarchy (meaning you have two copies of your photos now and LrC matches the new folders).

Please show us a screen capture of the folders as seen by your operating system, and another screen capture of the Folder panel in Lightroom Classic. Please use the "Insert Photos" icon to include your screen captures in your reply; do not attach files.
