P: "disc not ejected properly" m2 pro chip Mac mini

First, LRC and PS took for ever!! to download.  Now if I have lrc open, I get error messages from finder that "disc not ejected properly". These are two plugged in ssd drives, one of which holds my LRC catolog.

If I restart, and reopen LRC imports from (for example) discA are ? gone (? is there) . if I bring new photos into the catolog (import) from that same discA there is a NEW discA with the new imports and the old discA is called discA2...

I've been on the phone with apple for days and I have reinstalled everything 3 x.  I have tried running the new beta OS. none of this works, there must be an issue in LRC which is causing a disc to "eject" and for a new naming of an item in LRC. IS there no HELP PHONE NUMBER FOR ADOBE?

This is more than likely a result of problems with the cables on your SSD drives. Pretty likely to happen with USB-c connectors that are a bit loose in the socket on the computer. It is an especially common problem on laptop computers where the connectors can get bumped into and everything moves around. So make sure the connectors are properly seated and if needed, immobilize or protect the plugs. There are angled USB-c cables that can prevent this. Can also be a hardware problem with the motherboard which unfortunately is also not uncommon. Unfortunately there is really no way this is caused by Lightroom.

If I plug them into my mac mini with intel chip, they work fine and I never had this problem been using them for years. I sent the computer back since I only had it for days. Let's see if they send me one that works.

You were lucky with the intel mini. It is very common for USB-c ports to become loose leading to these disconnections. It is also pretty common for these ports to be defective out of the store unfortunately. Modern technology I guess

these are lightening connections not sure if that's what you are referring to...

Show us screen captures of this problem (may need several screen captures). Use the "Insert Photos" icon to include your screen captures in your reply. Do NOT attach files.

Hi you can see "old " ssd which is now called jcron 1 and all photos are gone. When I did a subsequent import, it was called jcron (which is the file name on finder). finder never shows this as disconnected.
