P: Files with identical capture time & file size are now recognised as duplicates regardless of name

Just updtaed LR.  Now when I use Zerene Stacker to do a focus-stacked set of images, if I have cretaed more than one file I can just import the first one back into Lightroom.  It shows the correct number to be imported but then it pops up a message that says No photos or videos were found to import.

Is there a way around it or do I need step back to the previous LR version?

<Mod:> The title has been updated to reflect the change in how Duplicates are handled in 14.4.

"if I uncheck don’t import suspected duplicates and import again, then they will import."

LR 14.4 changed how it detects duplicates:

"As of this release, a matching filename is no longer required, so files with identical capture date/time and file size are now recognised as duplicates, even if their filename differs."

So do all the problem files have the same file size and EXIF capture date/time (as seen in the Metadata panel, not Finder)?

"then it pops up a message that says No photos or videos were found to import."

That usually indicates the photos are already in the catalog. Double-check they didn't already get imported somehow:

1. In the Catalog panel in the left column of Library, select All Photographs.

2. Do the menu command Photo > Stacking > Expand All Stacks.

3. Search for the suspect photos by doing doing the menu command Library > Find, then Filename Contains <filename>.

If that doesn't help, you should probably contact the developer of Zerene Stacker.

No, they’re not hidden in a stack, they just didn’t import. BUT I just found that if I uncheck don’t import suspected duplicates and import again, then they will import.

So it looks like they have been marked as imported when they weren’t?

No indication of a Zerene issue.
