First time poster here... has anyone else had problems with LR crashing their IMac? I am working on a 8 month old IMac and it crashes when I'm using LR heavily. I updated LR a few days ago and the problem seems worse. Just now I was in LR editing and it crashed 5 times within an hour!! You can imagine how frustrating this is. I am using no other program when it does this. Today it repeatedly happened when I was using the spot healing tool. Any help is appreciated!

Hi all,

We're sorry for the crash issues with Lightroom Classic. Please take a look at the following troubleshooting article to resolve most of the crash and freeze related issues: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-crash-or-freeze.html

Thanks,

Mohit

Hi

Every time I go into the develop module Lightroom crashes. This has been happening for 4 days now, both before and after the recent Windows 10 update. I have done the following to try and resolve the issue:

  • Made sure all Adobe products are up to date
  • Updated GPU and all other drivers
  • Reset preferences
  • Disable all plug ins
  • Increased Cache size to 10Gb and then 20Gb

I have tried all the above and the problem persists. My system specs are

Radeon Software Version - 17.4.4

Graphics Chipset - AMD Radeon R9 200 Series

Memory Size - 4096 MB

Memory Type - GDDR5

Core Clock - 1000 MHz

Windows Version - Windows 10 (64 bit)

System Memory - 16 GB

CPU Type - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz

1Tb SSD

I have never had a problem with Lightroom in 7 years of using it. However, this has stopped my work in its tracks. I am a professional photographer and all my eggs are in this basket!

If anyone else is having this problem or can suggest a solution the help would be very much appreciated.

Try changing the setting on the GPU acceleration (Preferences->Performance tab->box labeled "Use Graphics Processor")

Try deleting your preference file.

Could you please state the exact version NUMBER of your Lightroom installation?

Hi dj_paige

Thanks for your quick reply, much appreciated.

I always have the "Use Graphics Processor" as on, but after turning it off it seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks very much! Will contact Radeon to see if there is a known issue.

My Lightroom version: CC 2015.10 [ 1111918 ]
