Since the latest versions of Lightroom Classic and MacOS the masking of people always shows “No people found” – even on photos where it was working before.

@sirthrosturv, @Hot Tubs Oxfordshire, there are many reports that People masking fails on Intel Macs with Mac OS 26.3, and the evidence strongly points at a buggy AMD graphics driver released in 26.3:

While waiting for Apple and AMD to release a fixed driver, try this workaround:

@Hot Tubs Oxfordshire I intalled Mac OS Sequoia on an external drive (since it appears impossible to downgrade Tahoe) and people detection is no an issue when runnig Lightroom under that OS on the iMac.

That’s further evidence it’s a bug in the Mac OS 26.3 AMD graphics driver.

Are you saying that when you open the Masking tool on an image that contains people, the people tab in the Masking panel does not detect any people? Does this happen on all images containing people, or on one or two specific photos? Can you post a screenshot of an example photo, showing the image and the opened Masking panel with the People tab expanded?

Yes that's exactly what's happening on all photos with people in it. When in the masking tool the side bar where it says subject, sky , and background there's a list under where it has people and when I click on the drop done arrow by people it quickly scans then it's blank

Can you share an example image which Lightroom fails to detect any people. Use something like Dropbox or WeTransfer to upload the image then share the link here so that we can try to reproduce the same problem.

I'm having trouble getting the face detection to work on Lightroom, I've restarted Lightroom, disabled and enabled face detection, again still nothing, and I tried updating lightroom. I still can't edit faces seperately using the masking tool.
