P: Post 15.5.1 Content Credentials may be added automatically during Export.

Lightroom Classic now adds AI content credentials to image exports automatically (just started last week, without warning). For tools such as Remove, for dust spots, etc. This appears not possible to be turned off ?

The export options show that Content Credentials are off, but it is still applied

My use of such tools is for image refinement, not creation of distortions (which is where the content credentials are more appropriate)

For minor refinements I do not want my images to be tagged in this way, misconstruing and giving he wrong message about the final image

Please let me know how I can stop the CC being tagged, as it appears in Bridge (and beyond)

@Yassine_Ifkir7986, you can also remove the Content Credentials from exported photos using the Metadata Wrangler plugin as part of your Export preset, with this option down at the very bottom:

I’m facing the same problem. As a temporary workaround, I’ve been using https://exifinjector.com/. It provides a simple tool to view and edit image metadata, including removing the AI Content Credentials/C2PA data when needed.

I’m able to reproduce the bug in LR 15.5.1 / Mac OS 26.6.2 but not in LR 15.4. Steps to reproduce:

1. Download and open the attached catalog, which has a single photo to which Generative AI Remove has been applied.

2. Select the single photo and export it to the Desktop with the following settings, which explicitly disable Content Credentials:

Use “exiftool” to verify that Content Credentials have been included in the file:

yes the only workaround I’ve found is to use an EXIF tool. I’m using https://exifinjector.com/ which lets you view and remove the C2PA signature. You can try it if you want.

I don’t see that and the export dialog still has the option to turn off content credentials.

Maybe you need to reset the preferences: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

I have turned it off at the export stage (in fact it has never been turned on) - but makes no difference. Still marks an image, as shown in Bridge. Images where remove for example has not been used does not show this tag

Only happened since the last update of LrC - could it be a bug ?

Also reset preferences - made no difference

Now lost my original preferences, despite putting back the original preferences (plist) file. So will have to rebuild a myriad of my preferences again ….
