People/Face Detection

I have photos of my kids when they were 4-5 to over 20.  I would think trying to do People detection over a span of 15-20 years would be difficult and error prone.  I could be wrong.  Is it better to do person A with say 3 different names to kind of minimize the changes of their face and when done go back and use one name for the initial logical 3 people
