People masking doesn't work after update

Since updating to 12.1 todat the masking feature for people no longer works

It's 12.0.1 and it works fine on my Mac. Check that your GPU driver is up to date.

Since updating to 12.1 today the masking feature for people no longer works. Is there a fix or work around ?
