People mode slow
I need a reality check. I've been using Lightroom for years and have tried to use facial recognition each time I upgrade but it has always been very slow. I am working on a project where it would be very useful to find all the photos of a person in my catalog. I have a new computer and invested in the best graphics card available for this build, an Nvidia Geforce 1080. I'm trying to find all the "similar" faces for one person. When I click, it takes about 2-3 seconds for the photo to highlight. I've tried it with the Enable GPU checked & unchecked & the performance is the same.
I am running Windows 10 Pro
64 bit
I7-8700k CUP @ 3.7ghz
I've read all the threads associated with facial recognition. In this mode, it finds a face in the grass, water, leaves, etc. and there is no way to tell Lightroom to stop picking up these photos. There is no symbol on the bottom right corner of the photo and the context menu "Remove Face Regions" doesn't work in the "Similar" mode. Please fix this programming so the feature works.
1. Can someone tell me if this speed is normal? If it is, then Lightroom still doesn't have a functional facial recognition module because this would take years to process my photos.
2. Is there some other way to remove face regions when there is no face in the area of the photo that Lightroom has tagged?
Thank you.
