Question

Photos are dimmer in Library and full-screen than in Develop and exported photos.

LrC 13.0 and 13.0.1

Windows 11

I have an HDR monitor but don't know whether that make a difference.

I first noticed this in LrC 13.0 (but maybe I haven't been paying attention), and it continues in 13.0.1.

I'm experiencing an issue in that images look normal within Lightroom - but once exported as a TIFF or JPEG - and uploaded to flickr or opened on the desktop - both colour and luminosity has changed. Very annoying.

There are all manner of common color space issues that can cause that. Are you exporting in sRGB? Are you opening them in a color managed viewer? Does opening the image in Photoshop or reimporting it to Lightroom have the correct colors?

I exported a TIFF in sGRB and viewed it with FastStone, Windows Photo, and Windows Paint. I don't use Photoshop. But exported files are fine. And I just tried turning off HDR on the monitor to use sRGB space, which had no effect. I like your suggestion that the problem may be with the previews but don't really know much about that.

I have also noticed that library/loupe photos seem to have colors slightly off (I noticed it as purplish skies). I'm also on Windows 11 and using an HDR monitor. It's definitely new in 13.x. Develop and exported photos are still fine, which is where perfect color really matters, so it's not a huge deal most of the time. I believe everything except for develop mode view and exports uses a cached preview, so perhaps something is wrong with the creation or display of those previews?
