Question

Photos from Lightroom Classic has different blacks on Google Drive & on my phone

When I export a photo from Lightroom and look at that exact file it looks exactly how I want it to. But when I put it in google drive and share it to my phone the blacks appear way darker (this is something I can see on my computer screen, too) When I download that file after being uploaded to google drive on my computer, it looks as it's supposed to. But when I download it on my phone it doesn't. Is there something I can change in my export settings to make this not happen? How do I fix this?

In what application are you viewing the exported image on your computer?

The file explorer and the desktop are not color managed, and can not be expected to display correct colors.

Android phones are not color managed either.

iPhones supposedly use color management, but I have no experience with them.

If you see the same issue on you computer, then it's unlikely to be your phone at fault. Typically, brighness descrepencies such as you describe are due to the computer display being set to high.

The problem on your phone is most likely that the screen is calibrated incorrectly (or at least differently than your computer monitor is calibrated). You will have to do the research to see if there is a way to calibrate your phone screen.

Similarly, when you are looking at the photo on Google Drive, your web browser that you are using is most likely not using the monitor profile. All of this depends on which web browser you are using, and what the internal settings are.

In general, there is no way to guarantee that photos will look the same on different screens or when viewed on different software.

I've seen other threads on here that say you can change the export settings to match the other color spaces, is there a way I can do that to fix this issue?

As far as I know, there is no such thing as a "fix" here. If a screen has a different calibration than your screen, you will notice differences.

I don't think you can change export settings either to help with this issue, other than to export as sRGB, which can help but doesn't guarantee anything; however you may be able to change your web browser's internal settings that allow it to use the monitor calibration (if it is not using the calibration) which should help.
