Photos from Lightroom to External Hard-drive. Please Help!

Hi there,

I had pictures marked "2018" on my PC, but as they where taking up to much memory on my computer, I placed all my pictures and my edits onto my external hard-drive. Recently when I tried to go back to edit my old photos, I plugged in my old hard-drive and it now says that I can't access my old edits: "This file cannot be found".

Is there any way of me accessing my old edits?

Many Thanks,

Conor

Going to need more details.

When you say you place all your pictures and edit on external drive did you do that "IN" LR. And actually if you didn't have the option to Auto Write Changes to XMP turned on then all your edits got written to the LR Database file, the Catalog file, only. There is no Copying, moving of edits from one drive to another.

Hey, Thanks for the quick response!

"When you say you place all your pictures and edit on external drive did you do that "IN" LR."

I didn't do it in Lightroom, it was from my desktop window where I dragged all of my pictures from outside of lightroom to the hard-drive, I know I am an idiot!

I've attached some photos if it helps?
