Question

Photos missing from folder with LRC

I just switched back from LR CC back to LRC. After downloading about 11,000 photos with Lightroom Downloader from the cloud to my computer, I found some photos are missing from some folders. Some folders are indicated with ? mark, that I know a break with the link; but some folders are not with ? mark where you can find some embedded preview. In Develop Module, it shows photos are missing. It is strange to  have  Folder 2020-08 containing 5 photos, but in exploiting LR CC, I found those 5 photos with which the metadata shows the capture date  2020-04-17. I once tried to locate those photos but with no success.

Please help me how-to fix problems. Thanks

I'm not sure what exactly you did. Lightroom Downloader downloads the online images, but it does not create a Lightroom Classic catalog, nor does it link images to an existing Lightroom Classic as far as I know. You have to do this yourself. So where does your Lightroom Classic catalog come from? It sounds it's not a new catalog, but possibly an old one so the missing folders have nothing to do with the downloaded images.

I subscribed to LR CC starting from 2022 after quitting LRC. Now I renewed subscribing to LRC, thus I download all the photos in the cloud to lessen the storage. I imported all the downloaded photos to LRC, but found some folders dated 2020 and 2021 displayed Photos are missing. As I mentioned in the 1st post, photos in the Folder 2020-08 are missing, which I can still find in the LR CC (note: I have not deleted any photos after downloading from LR CC as I have 30 days to keep the storage even the storage is over the 20 GB limit under the new photography plan). Did I do something wrong in importing the photos? Please help.

If you import photos into Lightroom Classic, then obviously Lightroom Classic knows where they are. If the folders show a question mark, then you must have (re)moved/renamed them afterwards. This is how you fix that:

Those 5 photos found in LR CC are in the albums with Lightroom Catalog-v10-v11. Does it mean I have to import some photos from the old catalog?
