Photos moved out of folders (labelled by date). How do I get them back in there?

Hello Kind People,

I downloaded 20,000 images from the Lightroom cloud and Lightroom Classic organized them on my hard drive into folders named by date taken (e.g. 2023/1-15 and so on). I did a couple things* and the effect is that the photos now aren't in dated folders; rather, they're in one big catchall folder. How can I get them back into dated folders?

The couple things I did which I think caused this mess: I changed my catalog folder name on my hard drive (from "LrC sync" to "LrC Raw Files"). I believe it still said "LrC sync" in Lightroom Classic, so I believe I clicked "update folder location" on it. And then I noticed that sync was set up to go to the old folder name, so I updated it to the new folder name.
